Type to Answer

Type to Answer lets you write the answer yourself before revealing the back of the card. Flashka checks what you typed, tells you if you got it, and proposes the right feedback button for spaced repetition. It works in both Spaced Repetition and Fast Review.

🏁 What it does

• You type your answer instead of just flipping the card.

• Flashka compares your text with the expected answer using semantic matching.

• You get an instant judgement and a suggested rating such as Impossible, Hard, OK, or Easy.

• You can accept the suggestion with one tap.

⚙️ How to turn it on

1. Open a study session in Spaced Repetition or Fast Review.

2. Hit the keyboard icon on the bottom bar to enable typing mode.

3. Start typing your answer in the input field that appears.

4. Press Enter to submit.

🧠 How the check works

• Flashka looks for meaning, not only exact words.

• Minor wording differences will still be counted correct if the idea matches.

• If your answer is partly right, you will see a gentle nudge with a stricter feedback suggestion.

• After the check, Flashka proposes a rating for spaced repetition.

• Press Space to accept the suggestion instantly.

• Prefer a different rating? Tap the button you want:

  • Impossible shows the card again in about 1 minute

  • Hard keeps it soon

  • OK schedules it later

  • Easy pushes it far out

Completely free. No credits used.

💡 Tips

• If a card expects a list, write each item on a new line or separate with commas.

• If you disagree with the suggestion, override it. Honesty drives better scheduling.
